38. Tame your taste buds.
Our taste buds have been trained by food manufacturers to experience and enjoy a carnival. The food is saturated with fat, sugar, salt, and added flavor. Once you have trained your buds to get off the roller coaster, they will be like a fine-tuned symphony. Simple foods with few ingredients will taste much better.
Our cravings for fat, salt, and sugar started back when humans lived in caves and hunted and gathered for their food. Fat, salt, and sugar were in short supply. So to ensure that we ate adequate supplies of each, we evolved a craving for them. - Harvard Medical School |
